Paul Kearns, DVM

I have had a love for animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Hamilton, near Gage Park and would bring home any animal I thought needed help. My parents were very tolerant allowing me to have many pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, mice, birds, turtles, fish, snakes and salamanders. I even had a pet cockroach. Currently I have 2 cats named Alden and Riley, a parrot named Twiggy and a horse named Quierdo.

My post secondary education began at the University of McMaster where I received my Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Genetics in 1991. I spent the next year exploring Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia. When I returned from my travels, I was accepted into the Ontario Veterinary College where I graduated in 1998. I have been practicing in Hamilton ever since. My passion is surgery but I appreciate all aspects of Veterinary Medicine. I enjoy the diversification a career in Veterinary Medicine provides.

I currently live in Dundas with my wife who is also in the Veterinary Profession and my daughter whom I’m sure will be a veterinarian when she grows up, as she too wants to bring home any animal in need of care.

I am fortunate to have been working at Mohawk Animal Clinic since graduating in 1998 where I can enjoy a wonderful balance between work and family life.
